Dear Gals,
I received many PMs on what exactly happen. Sorry I have been advise by the moderator that I am not able to disclose the doctor name. It is for my own good. The purpose of my message is not to slander any clinic or doctor or bad-mouth any GP or the procedure. The purpose of my post to warn everyone that do not take such procedure lightly. I used to think it is 100% safe because many have been doing it but I fail to understand that in every surgery there is always risk and complication involved. Maybe I am just unlucky ![]() Few things you need to take note ... In my pursuit in seeking a doctor and after the procedure, I discover many things ... There are many reason why procedure can be expensive and some are not (we are only talking about doing it in Singapore). - The doctor reputation has a big part to play, if the surgeon is famous, he will command a higher fee. - There is a different between the fee when you surgery is done by a surgeon and a physician. Remember to ask. - Just remember doing X number of procedures does not = X number of successful or satisfactions. - If you are performing in a clinic, Physicians are NOT allowed to remove more than 1 litres of FATs from you. That is the MOH guideline, many patient may think that you pay so much but only removal of 1 litre of fats?? Depending on your current size, removal of 1 litre of fats may have "minimum" result. Unlike GP that cure you of illnesses, Cosmetics physicians or surgeon are result-driven. - There is a reason why you need to be hospitalized and not discharged immediately when more than 1 litre of fats is removed. During tumescent liposuction, large amounts of fluids are injected. At the same time, some fluid is removed in the fat tissue. This may result in a fluid imbalance , if not recognized and treated may result in serious conditions such as pulmonary edema (fluid in the lungs), or heart or kidney dysfunction. - BUT if your procedure is to be carried in a hospital, than it will be EXPENSIVE. - It is not easy to sue a doctor in Singapore. If you are lucky, settle with him directly if you are not satisfied. - To sue a doctor, you will normally need a overseas professional opinion that the complication is due to the surgery. Yes of course, you can complain to SMC but that will not get you back a cent. Something for all to think about it ... I am not for or against this aesthetic treatment but you really have to weigh the pro and con if you decide to go ahead with it.
