Default How Can I Clean Off My Chanel Purse’s Exterior?

My sister borrowed my Chanel bag (quilted white with black Chanel sign) for a trip to D.C. She decided to wash it really well beforehand, though, and after it dried I noticed that it the black handles have faded and the white quilts have also turned a gray hue.
She says she didn’t use any kinds of soaps or cleaning materials. Just scrubbing under warm water. She then dried it under the sun and then in the clothes dryer.
What can I do to restore my bag to its former glory?

WHY she dry it under the sun?

Always avoid exposing leather to direct sunlight or heat for prolonged periods of time. Leather will crack under heat and dry condition, that is why bag need conditioning.

I think your bag need some conditioning.

Sorry to hear that.
If you can try and get a small jar of original pure MINK balsam specially for leather, perhaps you can try rub it in at the small corner or bottom part of your bag. See if it can restore the dryness and suppleness to your Chanel bag. Good luck.

Take note that if you are using mink oil, it should be kept away from the seams because it can make the thread in the seams break down quicker.

The reason being the thread is made from cotton. Whenever you hear people say that mink oil is bad for leather, it isn't true.

Mink oil is not bad for the leather, but is actually bad for the seams that hold the garment together.

But you have to be extra careful when using it.
