Hi Kelly, thanks for ur prompt reply.
*phew* finally found the datecode after searching my bag for sooooo long. hahahah! Oh btw can i ask you this too, i just found the date code for my Vernis Bellevue and sad to say...... it show 4078!! ![]() This means it was manufactured in the 47th week of 2008 right? (that is the 3rd week of Nov08.... which is almost 9mths since then.... I felt sad and kinda cheated because i just bought it from Munich 2weeks back. Can LV sell something that is almost 1yr in shop?? What i mean is i thought LV bags usually turnover very fast, hence i am not sure why this Bellevue is sitting there for almost 1yr already. No wonder the leather handle was not that 'white' as the other LV bags i bought..... Last edited by iluvhipo; August 22nd, 2009 at 12:46 AM. |

To be honest, I've seen bags that are up to 3 years old still sitting in the boutiques before it is sold .... or not even sold
![]() A bag will stay in the boutique's inventory/stock room for a longest time until someone is willing to buy it. More popular ones tend to have higher stock turnaround Do check the datecode before you leave the boutique, if you do not know where it is, check with the staff. My friend bought an EPI and did not realise that it is 3 years old already ![]() Louis Vuitton is very different from other brands like Gucci. LV keep their bag style for over 10+ years. When the model discontinued, the value of the bag actually appreciate. Louis Vuitton never goes on sales period. They control their prices because LV does not wholesale, meaning that they have 100% control of their products. That is why even their sales staff hardly get any discount for LV compared to other brands. |

Hi Kelly, thanks for ur guidance again. You really know alot about LV.
![]() Wow! 3yrs is long man! Because at first i thought LV would have high QC standards and will not sell something that is left in their stock for so long. Especially if the bag has the leather handle/strap, cause it tends to oxidize/turn to darker brown after sometime. Customers will prefer a whiter & newer color mah. hehehe! ![]() Anyway i guess there is nothing i can do much now since i already bought it... Yup next time i will make sure i check the date code before i make the purchase. This time round i didn't do that because it was only until now then i learn about this date code thingy. *sigh* its too late.... |
